Country Girl Adventures: Soho Farmhouse

I make it no secret that when it comes down to it, I am a country girl through and through. I simply adore the British countryside. When I lived abroad I was homesick for lush green fields and autumn-tinged woodland. And I find a long muddy walk finishing up in a rustic old pub with a large glass of red by the fire to be unbeatable when it comes to dates.

So, when a dear gentleman offered to whisk me away with him to Soho Farmhouse for a mid-week adventure I just couldn’t resist. I know, I know, I was reading rural Hampshire for Soho House’s version of farm life, but sometimes it’s fun to indulge in a little fantasy living, don’t you agree?

And so I indulged.

Our days at the farm were a wonderful mix of all my favourite things. Morning gym followed by delicious breakfasts (my love affair with breakfast food is one for the ages). Long, gentle hacks through the countryside - it’s been far too long since I last went horseback riding, so this was particularly special. Afternoons spent soaking in the outdoor tub, with an aperitivo and a good book. Dressing up and trying each of the Farmhouse’s sumptuous restaurants. And nights spent in our cosy cabin sipping red wine by the log burner, setting the world to rights.

It was just the break I needed after a long year and a bit of lockdowns. I remain cautiously optimistic about international travel, but staycations such as this hold a very special place in my heart.

Fancy an adventure of our own? Get in touch to find out more about my train me to you and fly me to you dates.
